When Joseph was 17 God gave him two dreams that he knew meant that one day his brothers would be bowing before him, cialis that he would be in a place of power. It wasn’t until he was 30 that those dreams began to take shape and even closer to 40 when his brothers bowed before him. In those years between 17 and 30, so many obstacles and troubles makes me wonder if Joseph doubted the dreams God had given him. When he was sitting in prison did he still believe that he would one day be in power?
God has plans for us. God has plans for you. One of the most difficult aspect of dealing with those plans is when we feel like we’re on a rabbit trail along the way or when we can’t see how to get from where we are to the outcome He’s called us to.
We have been raising funds for 22 months. We thought we’d be done in 12, but things don’t always go like we plan. Last week, on Thursday, we received a call from headquarters to tell us that we are out of time. We have used every possible extension of time and are now down to the last days. Next Tuesday the Executive Committee will review our file and there is a very big possibility they will cut us from the missions program if we do not have our funds in by then.
When we received the call on Thursday we were just over $1000 short on our budget. We update a lot on Facebook, so let me paste in here just how this journey has gone so far…
October 7th – We need a miracle in the next 7 days. Please read and help if you are able. We need 100 monthly supporters at $10/month. Could you sacrifice $10/month to help us build schools and help give hope and a future to the poverty stricken youth and children of Colombia?
October 8th – KEEP PRAYING! Thank you so much to everyone who has reposted our need! As of this morning $70 in new support has come in. Anyone who filled out the form online last night or this morning will be reported to us tomorrow morning. Please keep praying and posting! WE NEED 93 MORE PEOPLE AT $10/MONTH IN SIX DAYS!! God created everything in six days – we know he can provide for this!!
October 9th – We’re down to 5 days and $900 in monthly support left to raise. Can you give $10 a month? We’ll get our next update on Tuesday. Thank you for getting the word out and please help keep it going.
October 11th – Great morning! Corey drove in at 5:30AM!! Woohoo!! Quick update – we are (unofficially) down to needing $781 more in new monthly support – that’s 78 more individuals or churches committed to $10/month!! Keep praying – we only have a few days left!
October 12th – Our latest update ~ Unofficially we need $581 more in monthly support – down to 58 individuals or churches at $10/month! Can you help us impact the lives of kids in Colombia?
I cannot believe the calls and emails we have gotten from friends, churches, strangers, etc. showing support and sending in commitment forms. When we first got the call I felt desperate, panic stricken, unbelievably stressed out, but then I thought about Joseph and what he endured between the call and the fulfillment and I remembered that God knows the path from point A to point B. I remembered that the way is not always easy, but that God knows the plans that He has for the Kautz family and I remembered that God unequivocally called us to Colombia. Knowing He called us, we know He has the plan to get us there!
Please pray! Support is pouring in and we know that God is providing, but we appreciate your prayers and your passing on of our info. We praise God for the work He is doing in our spirits during this time of pressure and know that when we step on the field in Colombia we will be doing so fully prepared.
James 1:2-4 (The Message)
2-4Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
