Summer Recap – Week One

Well, nurse as I wrote before we had a very busy summer. Our first week was a quick break to see family. We went up to Michigan and had a wonderful time! The first couple of days were a bit of reverse culture shock as we walked through Wal-Mart and Toys R Us and saw how much there was to offer! We had a fun movie night with tons of American candy!

We spent a first couple days with Corey’s side of the family for a family reunion. Both of his brothers and sister were there too with their families so it was great for all the grandkids to have time to get to know each other better. Our only mishap was that Alex fell out of a tree and broke his arm – our third day in the States. There had been a tornado just two days before family reunion and he and his cousins were playing on the fallen trees. We took a detour to a local hospital and later to a local clinic to get his cast on. Even with a broken arm, cialis though, he and Maggie agreed this was the best family reunion ever!

Another highlight for our trip was my chance to reunite with high school friends. My childhood best friend, Missy, was just a week away from delivering twins! We got together for lunch and got to hear all about her journey through pregnancy. I’m happy to say she delivered two beautiful baby girls.

We had a great time with both sides of our family and spent lots of time at the lakes! It was so nice to be able to relax a little bit with everyone. We had been away for over a year and a half and getting even a short amount of time with parents, siblings, cousins, etc. was a nice refreshing time.
